The Fuller Brush Man [HD]

The only black-and-white video my five kids love!
Red Skelton was an icon to middle-class America, and this was his movie my family most adored as I was growing up. Videos were non-existent, but we crowded around the television when this was shown as a TV movie, and my brother, sisters and I would try to memorize Skelton's wild antics and routines, then perform them for each other. Decades later, in today's video times, I rented this and tried it out on my own children, who normally thumb their noses at an old black-and-white video. Not this one. They howled as we did, and even started memorizing the bits on their own. From a wacky encounter with "girl scouts" in the park, to getting framed for murder with a hair brush, to a showdown in an army surplus warehouse, Skelton does a tour-de-force that only his expressive rubber face could present. If you have a generation gap to bridge, you'll never find a funnier video for your family than this.

The funniest movie I have ever seen!
My brother, sister, and I became big fans of Red Skelton when we found and bought some tapes at the store. My brother and I also remembered Red in some TV specials when we were kids during the 1980's. Someone told us about the movie "The Fuller Brush Man" and how funny it was. We found it here on Amazon. When we watched the movie, we were rolling on the floor. We were laughing so hard. What is really amazing is that the whole movie is clean!! Red Skelton is the best comedian there ever was and ever will be!!! Why don't they still produce this movie? We bought ours brand new not to long ago.

Even after 40 years I laughed out loud, this is a funny movie
I ordered this movie because I remember seeing it and the Yellow Cab Man in the '60s on Million Dollar Movie (NYC's Channel 9, right after supper). I laughed like an idiot back then and it's just about as funny today. Here is a movie you can watch with your kids and not have to worry about sex, violence and bad language. Really, think about it, how many movies can you say that about today. I really like the fact that Red Skelton never went dirty in his humor and when you see this film, you will know why he never had to - he was a great physical comedian. And despite the age of the movie, today's kids will actually get the gags. Unlike the Stooges, the slap stick scenes are fast paced and often done on a grand scale (there is a great chase sequence in a warehouse that is priceless). The thing about slap stick, when done right, is that once you get laughing, you're hooked. The plot is classic '40s good vs. evil and unlike a lot of movies today, good wins. And the bad guys go to jail...
